Next stop, the Underground Railroad!

Our ancestors traveled the Underground Railroad to freedom and lived free and productive lives.

Walking, riding, sitting, seeking, or wondering; whatever way you choose to come, you will be enlightened by the courage, ingenuity, eloquence, and determination embodied in the stories of those who traveled on and operated the Underground Railroad. Akwaaba presents stories that bring historical personalities, events, and sites to life. Akwaaba customizes its tours to meet the needs of scholars and students, visitors, tourists, residents, senior citizens, cultural institutions, and other groups. You can expect your senses to be challenged by our tours and onsite presentations. For more information, e-mail us or call (585) 482.5192 (fax 288.3681) to request a tour.

NEWS: Planning to join  the global Internet community

The Arts Council in Buffalo & Erie County awarded its second grant to AKWAABA: The Heritage Associates to implement their website. "We were delighted to receive recognition for our plan, and now its implementation,  from the Arts Council," said Akwaaba president Ruth Anderson. "We are 75% of the way toward launch, which takes place this March. The work has progressed swiftly and we are very much on target." The heritage tour group selected the marketing firm Words & More as their consultant. "Anytime a group can thoughtfully deliberate on their message and how a website will change the way they conduct business," said ceo J. K. Langkans, "you can be sure of an excellent, eminently useful outcome."
