FESTIVAL NEWS
Please mark
your calendar for October 2008 when our festival returns to Rochester. After a year of planning, we're bursting with excitement, new blackstorytelling and tall tales, and much more all for your enjoyment!
Story-To-Go
We invite you to experience Blackstorytelling in and around
Rochester at locals schools, churches, and community centers. Blackstorytelling welcomes your interest. We have over a
dozen active members, many of whom teach in local schools. Our
members come from all walks of life; from libraries, health
and human services, small businesses, stage and theatre, just
to name a few. The dynamic oral art of
Blackstorytelling expresses themes familiar to all settings; from corporate to nonprofit, and family gatherings including issues of
diversity, fear and change, growth and coming of age, community, and many
others.
We have presented at the Harriett
Tubman Home in Auburn NY, High Schools in Lyons and
the City of Rochester (8, 16, 17, 22, 33 and 57), and
out-of-state performances in Alabama.
Contact our president, Robin Nowell, to schedule a storytelling performance in your
community.
